Would you like to join the Travel Team?

The Travel Team organises a day trip every month to a place of interest – maybe a stately home, a National Trust property, a museum, a canal boat trip, or any place that we think would interest u3a members.  We limit the distance by saying that it must be at most 100 miles from York, but that includes many interesting places.

We are looking for a few more members of the team.  What do members of the team do?  They start by researching somewhere interesting that they would like to go, often starting on the internet.  Then we discuss it in a team meeting before they finalise and lead a day trip to that place.  We try to fill a coach with about 50 people, and our trips always benefit from our discussions in team meetings.

We communicate mostly by email between meetings, so you need to be able to use email as well as the internet.  We are also looking for people who will be able to attend most of our meetings – two hours on the first Friday afternoon of every second month.  We are a group of people enthusiastic about travel and discovering new places and will see that you are well supported for any trip that you offer to do.  Would you like to join us?
