Talks

Our monthly Talks begin at 10.30am at the Central Methodist Church Hall in St Saviourgate, doors open at 9.45am. Parking is available nearby.

There will be a cash admission charge for members and guests of £3 plus £1 for tea/coffee & biscuits, which will be served from 9.45am.

Talks will also be available on Zoom. We ask that those members who watch the talk on Zoom contribute £3 (the same amount as members attending the talk). This will go towards the cost of putting on the talk. There will be several payment options and full details will be included with the Zoom link which will be sent out in the week leading up to the talk.

THERE IS NO NEED TO BOOK FOR SATURDAY TALKS – just turn up and enjoy! (Note – booking is needed for Saturday Socials).

Paddy Neligan will explore the processes of ageing - the underlying mechanisms and effects - to question perceptions, and to look at ways in which we may modify the effects of the march of time. How can we age well?

Catherine Sotheran's talk will be based on her first book "York in close up", containing photographs of the detail on York's built environment.
If time permits, the talk will be followed by a short picture quiz.
