Have you ever wanted to try your hand at playing guitar? dust off that guitar you have hidden in the attic for all these years? or want to brush up on those chords you learnt years ago? Then you would be welcome to join us at the Beginners Guitar group. 

We are a collection of starters getting to grips with our guitars. Progress at the pace you are comfortable with. A self help group of aspiring players. A welcoming free space to try out getting to grips with these strange lumps of wood alongside others who can offer support and share their experiences.

The group is facilitated by Dave who has been playing guitar for some time, to provide support and suggestions and demonstrate aspects of playing.

There is no formal structure to the sessions, just a loose guide to getting to grips with an acoustic guitar, learning some basics and putting together some tunes. Whether you lean towards folk, pop, rock, blues or any other genre we all have to start somewhere. Take things at your own pace, it takes time to get your fingers used to pressing on the strings and strumming at the same time. 

No knowledge of music required, even if you don't even have a guitar, come and try one out to see what it's like.  

We can introduce you to the various aspects of guitars, strings, tuning etc. if you need, or want to plunge into this world.
