This course is designed for ‘singers’ who have previously attended a Can’t Sing Won’t Sing course wanting to continue learning and also for newcomers who have not yet ‘found' their singing voice.

Everyone has the gift of a voice, their own instrument so this course is an opportunity to learn how to ‘play’ that instrument.

We do this using Kodaly influenced methodology, learning simple, vocal technique, good singing posture, exploring pitch, pulse & rhythm, refining listening skills and developing part singing alongside learning crucial musicianship, using basic solfege to demystify simple song notation.

We start by using basic songs with a limited pitch range, an accessible melody and easy rhythm patterns then gradually increase the difficulty of the material. We will sing unison songs, echo songs, call & response songs, rounds, canons. We may use singing games and musicianship activities and explore a range of styles and genres. The material used will be ‘a capella’ i.e. not accompanied.
