Our small, friendly group meets monthly between October and July on the second Tuesday of each month in the Woolman Room at the U3A offices on Clifford Street. We meet for two hours and discuss a wide variety of topics. The format is simple. Each month a member will briefly introduce a subject of interest and then members will discuss the topic and any related matters. Ideas for new topics are always welcome. This allows a wide variety of views to be debated - and we might even achieve a consensus!

The purpose of the Group is to examine an event or period of history which we can then dissect in greater detail. We seek a wide variety of opinions to stimulate conversation. There are no restrictions on period or country so the scope is
endless. The topics chosen are wide ranging and there should be something to suit everyone’s tastes from well known subjects to some that may be completely unknown to most Group members. There are no formal requirements whatsoever to join the Group, just an interest in History and what it teaches (or fails to teach) us. A willingness to participate is all that is needed.

Give us try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
