The aim of the group is to help people become more proficient and in and enjoy speaking Italian. Come along and try us out – see if the group makes a good fit for you. Members take turns to bring interesting material from magazines, newspapers, YouTube for discussion, and sometimes we read a short story to discuss. We also spend time catching up on our recent activities (e.g. visiting art exhibitions, seeing family, trips in the UK or abroad, films or books we have enjoyed). Some knowledge of the language is expected, but you don’t have to be a brilliant speaker to take part.

If you are or know a native speaker who would like to join in as a member, have fun speaking Italian and wince at some of our errors, please get in touch. In line with U3A policy, we are not looking for a teacher, just a companion along the way. Please spread the word.
