This is a 10-week course between September and December to enable people to practice using signs that they already know for everyday use and also to practice signing to others. The course is suitable for anyone who has some experience of signing already and wants to build on those signs. Signs used will be mostly from British Sign Language (BSL) but also from Makaton and other signing systems that offer a wide range of signs to encourage general communication. The general signing used is known as Sign Supported English and is the link between the hearing and the deaf communities. There is a space limit of 8 people for this group. There is also a minimum of 2 people so if you and a friend fancy learning sign language together this could be a good course for you to consider as you will have someone to practice with.
